CGS Contractors have recently completed a landscape transformation for a happy customer completing various works for the client to give their impressive new build the perfect garden to match. The client presented us with some photos before we started the works and some action shots of the team working.
We worked on the project from early February to reshape the landscape working on both hard and soft landscape elements to deliver the highest quality of works.
We started off the project by demolition of an existing shed and removal of asbestos sheet roofing with our staff trained in asbestos waste management being UKATA registered having in depth knowledge and resources for removal of asbestos waste. We then worked to create and shape the existing landscape whilst producing a soak away for the client, forming the drainage network with gullies and manholes for the water management at the property.
We delivered over 40m of Cornish stonewalling to a height of 500mm using our expert knowledge and ability to create raised levels and features to be planted around the garden. The team also delivered a granite seating area to make the most of the sunlight and the freshly laid lawn supplied by Celtic Turf. For the Cornish stonewalls we used two methods being traditional earth and pointing up the stonework to finish. We produced steps for access onto the new lawn and for levels around the front of the gravelled driveway, ensuring that the quality features are kept throughout the project with locally sourced granite capping and pointing area to finish.
We laid over 600 square metres of turf at the site importing grade A topsoil from Celtic Turf to improve the design of the garden and make the areas connect to make the most of the space available. Shaping consisted of 3 different levels all matching into each other with various materials creating an aesthetically pleasing and user friendly environment.
The team created a new garden shed with a granite stone facing showing the skilled workmanship to produce a shelter for a water pump and for storage. We pointed the finished building and used local materials to fit in keeping with the newly built main home. This a truly Cornish shed built to withstand the coastal elements of along the tin coast.
We laid a patio and installed fencing around the outer boundary of the property installing handmade gates to fit the design of the property in a traditional setting. Our carpenter produced a handmade sleeper bench requiring skill and innovation which the customer was particularly delighted about. We installed the patio and covered the vast area with drainage manholes installed and with an outer border of granite cobbles to match into the lawn.
We fitted lighting and supplied local Cornish white gravel from Celtic Turf to complete the drive way and finish the project off. Our team installed a gate for privacy and granite cobbled break between the new development and the access lane.
We received the highest praise from our client receiving a thoughtful testimonial: “We are so thrilled with our outside space and all the hard work your team put into it for us. Kevin, Martin and Jacob and the team worked so professionally, and it was a pleasure to see them work so hard to transform our site into an actual garden, which before they got here I’d found hard to believe would ever really happen. We love the seating areas you created for us, the patio and the lovely lawn.” We want to thank all of our staff involved for their tireless effort throughout this impressive development with the pictures showing the transformation of the area and our high-quality well delivered effort.
