CGS Contractors successfully tendered and completed a Cornwall County Council project to upgrade 9 sections of the coastal footpath and installed improved signages across the county. The project is part of the Regional Development Pathways and Environment (RDPE) project funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The project ran for 9 months with CGS Contractors repairing the Southwest Coastal Path Network ranging from Lands’ End to the North Cornwall border.
The team installed coastal signage, oak timber steps, new bridges, and oak fences as part of the scheme to improve the walking conditions in some of Cornwall’s most scenic locations. CGS Contractors operatives were lucky to work in these locations meeting visitors from across the globe and receiving praise on the quality of the work being delivered. The project team worked closely with Cornwall Council and Cormac countryside representatives to successfully deliver the programme to time and within budget. CGS Contractors were principal contractors maintaining the highest health and safety, and contract administration standards throughout the lifecycle.
CGS Contractor are an expanding company throughout Cornwall gaining larger contracts and becoming main contractors.
